Background / Theme

The song "Chennaikku oru isai vanakkam" in Tamil is to pay a musical tribute to the City of Chennai, once called Chennapattinam and now Chennai after being called "Madras" in between. The city has become a home to millions from all over the world and stands tall as an example true to the spirit and age-old tradition of Tamilians. The first creation of the Angre & Nut team, a cross cultural creative caucus.

The song was released on the 12th october 2012 at Chennai by Mr V.Kalyanam, the personal sercetary to Mahatma Gandhi and the first copy was received by Mr.Santhana Bharatthi. The song has been dedicated to all those who love Chennai and M/s Hope Foundation, a public charity trust organized the launch. The song can be downloaded online and the proceedings of the work will support the research work on corneal blindness and cancer treatment through M/s Hope Foundation.
